¡Hola! I’m Colleen. If you’re here, there’s a good chance we met at a book swap (or you found one of my bookmarks 💚). I’m so glad you’re here! I run Spanish Alive, a community-centered space where adults learn Spanish in a way that’s actually enjoyable, doable, and rooted in real-life communication.

I offer small-group Spanish classes for adults—designed to help you actually speak and understand the language in real life.

A different way to learn Spanish

Most of us have tried learning a language before…
and most of us have felt overwhelmed, stuck, or like we “should” be further along.

That’s not how we do things here. Most of my students are busy adults who thought they “weren’t good at languages”—and are now having real conversations in Spanish.

At Spanish Alive:

You don’t need to be perfect to start speaking
You learn through conversation, stories, and real-life context
You’re supported every step of the way (no pressure, no awkward cold-calling)
You can show up as you are—even on busy weeks

It’s about building confidence over time… not cramming or memorizing.

More than just classes 💚

Yes, I offer Spanish classes (Levels 1–4, both in-person and online),
but this is also about community.

We do things like:

immersion-style experiences ✈️
cultural events and conversations
book clubs
community events

So even if you’re just getting started, you’re not doing it alone.
